World première

The novel »2666« by the Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño (1953-2003) serves as the point of departure for this performance. This novel is about the search for an author who disappeared in the same desert city in Mexico where an unsolved series of murdered women has shocked and frightened the world.

Themes such as violence, reality and fiction are transformed into experiential ground in »The Bolaño project«. This is conducted in multiple parts: the duo notfoundyet invites artists from different disciplines to explore the five chapters of the literary template. Laia Fabre and Thomas Kasebacher are creating the first part themselves and the complete project will be presented in its entirety in autumn 2016.

Thomas Kasebacher, director and performer, lives in Vienna. He studied directing and performance as well as comparative literature. Laia Fabre, born in Barcelona, received training in dance, performance and video installation. The two artists founded the performance collective notfoundyet in 2007 in Vienna and have since, amongst others, created the productions »Pudding« (2010), »Perfect happiness« (2011), »LINGER« (2011) and »This is so f*** dance« (2014).
