The starting point for this strange piece à la Beckett was the 3D image »LoveDot« by Dutch artist Rob Steenhorst. »Polka Dot. ein stilleben« (»Polka Dot. a still life«) is based on the »Berlin/Preußen« second life project (2007) by Jo Fabian and is twisted into a modern but folkloric tableau by Luxembourg musician Cyberpiper (Pit Vinandy) – in the guise of a star warrior with electronic bagpipes.

Jo Fabian, who was born in Berlin/East in 1960, studied acting in Rostock and staged at various theatres in the GDR. In 1987 he left the state theatre structures and founded his own group. The company Example dept. was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen in 1994. The Jo Fabian Department has given guest performances in Salzburg, Paris, Budapest, Porto, Brussels and Hong Kong, among other, and developed more than 40 productions in the course of time. They always show influences of fine arts and ironic approaches to Germany’s past and present. In 2001 Jo Fabian was awarded the »German producer’s prize for choreography«. The euro-scene Leipzig showed Jo Fabian’s plays »Shite Samurai« (1991), »Whisky & Flags« (1994), »Pax Germania« (1997), »tristan und isolde. nicht berühren« (2001) and »DIE IDIOTEN. das stück« (2005).
