The metaphorical story of a living creature
by Yvette Bozsik and György Arvai

Locked in a glass cage, the strange Beauty rocks her young naked body to the beat of a self-induced rhythm. She seems to have been transported to our civilisation from ancient times or places. The small amount of freedom allowed her in her transparent prison is used to celebrate rituals of life and death, a former existence as an animal, rituals of idol creation and worship, and loneliness.

The classical dancer and choreographer Yvette Bozsik formed The Collective of Natural Disasters seven years ago in Budapest in collaboration with the composer and director György Arvai. Their intention was to explore non-traditional forms of physical and musical expression. In addition to their classical work they regard themselves as representatives of the modern Hungarian dance theatre.

»Bozsik’s actual achievement, the high flexibility and startling strength of physical expression forces one to watch and to acknowledge fundamental truths about our original Self« (Weekender, Glasgow Herald, 25.08.1990).
