The light acts like a brush that brings out everything it touches. So appear

also the two dancers, two friends who go on a journey. Fragments from

Bodies that seem almost animalistic are gradually brought to life and then disappear again into the darkness. Light and shadow create a world of illusions and dreamlike adventures: the escape of a contortionist from the web of a spider, the search for clues in a damaged flying machine or in an underwater landscape with fantastic creatures.

“Hocus Pocus” enchants children and adults alike. The little peep show uses optical illusions to make objects and people float in the air and is an artistic and technical masterpiece. The background music from “Peer Gynt” by Edvard Grieg, composed in 1876 for the play of the same name by Henrik Ibsen and later compiled in two suites, inspires a world of fantasy and dreams.

Philippe Saire was born in 1957 in Algiers, the capital of Algeria. When he was five years old, his parents moved to Lausanne. Here he studied contemporary dance and subsequently worked as a dancer and choreographer, mainly in Paris. In 1986 he founded his own company, which has been one of the best known in Switzerland for decades. He developed some 40 productions, with over 1,500 performances in 200 cities around the world. After the guest performances “Nouvelles” (“Novellen”) in 1993, “Faust” in 1999 and “Black out” in 2015, he is now guesting at euro-scene Leipzig for the 4th time.
