Based on the same-named dance piece by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker
»Fase, four movements to the music of Steve Reich« (1982) was the second choreography of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and was adapted for film by the composer and film director Thierry De Mey 20 years later. In this duet, two dancers let their bodies act as depersonalised machines yet retain their individuality. This extremely successful piece is a milestone in the history of abstract dance.
