Pina

Pina Bausch, born in 1940 in Solingen, was one of the most important choreographers of the 20th century. Her style influenced successive generations of directors and choreographers and created stage works of international standing.

Tonstörung oder Vom Eigensinn des Akustischen (Sound disturbance or About the obstinacy of the acoustic)

Sound disturbances interrupt the coupling of images and sounds as we are accustomed to them. »I see you speak … «, announce the resounding images on television, in the cinema and at theatre and thus conclude: » … therefore you are!«.

Flamenco, the feisty Andalusian dance, is one of the signature features of Southern Spain. Flamenco, however, is not only a tourist attraction; it is simultaneously a living tradition which continuously further develops and mixes with new genres. One of its most creative interpreters is Israel Galván. ARTE has tagged along with the flamenco dancer during the creation of his work.

Ein Blick hinter die Kulissen (A glance behind the curtains)

The film »Ein Blick hinter die Kulissen« (»A glance behind the curtains«) was created on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of euro-scene Leipzig in 2010. Bernd E. Gengelbach, co-director and technical director of the festival, and filmmaker Tilman König spent two years on the trail of the artists, festival director Ann-Elisabeth Wolff, numerous partners and the audience.

Together with his dance partner, Cécile Loyer, and the two excellent jazz musicians Joëlle Léandre and Akosh Szelevényi, he embarks on a journey through time back to the age of Zen-Buddhism and explores the secret of time.

Concerto

Two different handwritings from Eastern Europe: The choreographic concert »Srh« by Milko Lazar and Matjaž Farič shows a mysterious battle of sexes with musicians and dancers. And Ivo Dimchev sings extravagantly with strong stage presence, accompanied by Emilian Gatsov at keyboard and drums - an improvisation performance between poetry and radicalism.
