Transit – between immigrants and citizens of the world … Five human beings move through imaginary landscapes like planets in outer space. They are homeless people making their way through urban labyrinths, on the search for their own being. The street becomes a path of destiny. They carry their histories and experiences, language and culture with them as baggage. They are temporary immigrants and citizens of the world. And in exile, they leave their marks on the societies they travel through.

Following »d.OPA!« (»Dopamine of the Post-Athenians«, 2009) and »Era poVera« (»Age of poverty«, 2012), »Planites« (»Planets«) ends a trilogy that examines human beings in urban habitats. The cultural diversity of the cities is also reflected in the movement vocabulary, which is inspired by Celtic dance and flamenco as well as Greek, African and Arabic elements.

Patricia Apergi, born in 1979, lives and works as a freelance choreographer in her native town Athens. She studied dance, theatre and choreography in Athens, Nice and London. In 2006 she founded the Aerites dance company and works interdisciplinary with it between contemporary dance, performance, literature, theatre and new media. Guest performances have led her, among others, to Avignon, London and Barcelona.
