Srh (Shiver)
Flota, Ljubljana
Tuesday, 08. November 2011 // 19.30-21.30 Uhr (Opening night)
Gewandhaus zu Leipzig / Großer Saal
German première
»Sound disturbance« – two guest performances from Eastern Europe demonstrate the innovative strength of very artistic signatures and the aesthetic diversity of euro-scene Leipzig:
The choreographic concert »Srh« (»Shiver«) contains a strange dialogue between male musicians and female dancers. The battle of the sexes, as old as humanity itself, expresses itself in an architecture of sounds ranging from gentle vibrations to an impulsive rapture of drum.
Matjaž Farič, born in 1965 in Ptuj, received his training as a dancer and choreographer at Maribor Ballet and Palucca Schule Dresden. He founded the company Flota in 2001 which he continues to lead today and is one of the most important choreographers in Slovenia.
Milko Lazar, born in 1965 in Maribor, is a composer, pianist, harpist, keyboardist and saxophonist. He works primarily in jazz and composes for the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and the RTV Slovenia Symphonic Orchestra.
Im Anschluss an die Vorstellung findet ein öffentlicher Empfang statt.
