The international victory march of Alain Platel and his company les ballets C de la B began with »Bonjour Madame … «. He came to Leipzig for the first time in 1996 – unfortunately too late for the piece »Bonjour Madame … «, which stopped being performed shortly before. There is no recording; only 7 minutes of a promotional video remain. »Bonjour Madame … « dealed with male arrogance and a crime committed out of boredom.
The dance piece »pitié!« (»Have mercy!«), based on Bach’s »St. Matthew Passion« was seen at euro-scene Leipzig in 2008. It deals with pity, sacrifice and mercy in today’s times. The film shows the ensemble at a guest performance in the Congo. Interviews and excerpts from the piece appear against the backdrop of African reality.
