A bird flies in a circle, slowly, endlessly. Time passes imperceptibly and existence is governed by rituals. Men still like to use women as decoration, and women are still perfectly content to allow it. The world of men, or their idea of it, resembles the bar in a western movie. Here, they feel strong and indispensable – just as hackneyed as when women still like to see the man as the hero in this very bar. Tea-drinking is considered to be the ceremony of living and working together, even if one no longer does it. And the search for love continues ceaselessly, even when one has likely given up believing in this good fortune.
The dance piece »ПОЛЕТЬІ ВО ВРЕМЯ ЧАЕПИТИЯ« (»Wings at Tea«) is of a refinement full of tenderness and melancholy, wonderfully danced with a high degree of technical skill and expressive power. Tatiana Baganova, born in the region of Tumen/Ural in 1968, is one of the leading talents in the relatively young contemporary dance scene in Russia. She studied choreography at Moscow University and has danced abroad with, among others, Anouk van Dijk, Christine Brunel and Joachim Schlömer. Since 1994 Tatiana Baganova has worked with the Company Provincial Dances Theatre in Yekaterinburg and has received numerous prizes at home and abroad, such as the »Golden Mask« for the best Russian interdisciplinary production in ballet and theatre in 2000 and 2001.
Yekaterinburg is, with 1.2 million inhabitants, the fourth largest city of Russia, 20 km of the Ural, the last Tsar was shot here with his family. The name of the city was changed to Sverdlovsk in 1924; in 1991 it got its old name back.
