Ein Theaterstück

Kellertheater der Oper Leipzig

    German premier

Two men collect love scenes on tape, the way others collect butterflies. Their collections are nice, but dead. They try incessantly to reanimate their archive and bring their collection to life. However, the archive has long since collected its archivists, and an illusory world hides the fact that they are unconnected, even though they constantly refer to each other. Searching for complete romance, that special feeling which makes life worth living, two people get lost in a labyrinth endlessly seeking the magic of the moment in the banality of everyday life.

This little piece is a theatrical gem and was first performed in the small space of a rather eerie railway viaduct in Zurich. Philippe Nauer and Dominique Rust are among the top actors of the independent Swiss theatre scene, mastering the subtle nuances of great dramatic art. They have completed the best training and perform in well-known groups, such as the Klara Theater Basel. Dominique Rust has already given a guest performance at the euro-scene Leipzig – in 1999 with the trio »Die Flecken der Giraffe« (»The Spots of the Giraffe«) in LOFFT.

»How dangerous love is and how those who try to get close to it under sterile conditions do not get away unscathed is magnificently portrayed in this dissecting performance« (Der Bund, Zürich, 16.12.2002).
